The immediate area around the midlands abounds with places of interest. No visitor to the area should leave without seeing the magnificent ruins of Clonmacnoise, an ancient monastic settlement on the banks of the River Shannon.
Birr Castle, with its world famous gardens and telescope is only a half hour drive from Annaharvey.
The Irish National Stud in Kildare and for a day at the races - Kilbeggan Racecourse hosts six meetings over the summer months. It’s all here - and available to you, when you stay at Annaharvey Farm.
Tullamore Dew Distillery, only a 5 minute drive into town where one can enjoy a tour of the old distillery based on the canal. Enjoy a sample of whiskey.
